History

Chromatide was founded in 2005 by Dr. Don Wellings, former Technology Manager at Polymer Laboratories and Avecia/Zeneca/ICI/CRB, and Dr. Saeed Gulzar, formerly Custom Peptide Synthesis Manager of Avecia/Zeneca.  The backgrounds of the co-founders are illustrative of the culture of innovation, expertise and experience that is at the core of the company

The company is based at The Heath Business and Technical Park, Runcorn, Cheshire. Chromatide has completed, and is delivering on, a number of revenue-generating contracts and is in the process of applying for a number of novel patents to build on its IP portfolio.


The Chromatide team has extensive experience in synthesis and purification of complex biomolecules from research to process scale and development of novel technologies to improve associated processes. We are very proud of the strong reputation we have gained in research, development and production at Avecia/Zeneca/ICI/CRB and for successful, on-schedule, delivery of cost-effective, quality outsourced contract services and projects. We carry this extensive experience forward into Chromatide.
